Every Training Journey Starts With a Conversation

Taking the first step in defensive training shouldn’t be intimidating — or expensive. While any Pistol Basics class can be booked directly, we recommend starting here. This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a working session where we get to know you and you get straight answers before spending a dime on gear or classes.

What Happens at Your Consultation

Placement Evaluation: We assess your current skill level and map out your right starting point. Pistol students begin in Pistol Basics or Practical Pistol Phase 1. Rifle students choose between two tracks — Carbine or Tactical Rifle — both beginning with Rifle Zeroing Fundamentals. Whatever your path, we’ll make sure you start exactly where you should.

Equipment Inspection: Bring your current or planned firearms and gear — pistol, rifle, or both. We’ll do a hands-on review together so you know exactly what works, what to consider changing, and what you can skip buying entirely. And if anything needs attention for safe training, we’ll show you exactly what and why. Whether you own a full setup or are starting from scratch, you’ll leave with a clear plan.

What Equipment You’ll Need, and When: Pistol students don’t need to own a firearm to begin — you’ll need your own pistol by Phase 2. Rifle students provide all their own equipment throughout training. You don’t need any of it yet to book a consultation — plenty of rifle students start with nothing and we’ll guide your purchases. But by your first rifle class you’ll need your own rifle and sighting system, so the consultation is the right time to get your setup sorted.

Goal Setting: Sit down with our instructors and talk honestly about what you want to achieve — protecting your family, building confidence, or developing serious defensive skill. If you’re not quite ready for the course you came for, we’ll point you to the right starting point so your training begins exactly where it should.

Facility Tour: See where you’ll train and how our curriculum prepares you for dynamic, real-life defensive situations.

Direct Answers: Speak face-to-face with experienced instructors and get your questions answered without pressure.

Good to Know Before You Come

Duration: About one hour, one-on-one with an instructor.

Bring: Your firearms and equipment — holster, magazines, sling, rifle optics, magazine pouches, and anything else you currently carry or plan to train with. Leave your ammunition at home; no live fire happens during a consultation.

Don’t have any of it yet? Come anyway. Plenty of students arrive owning nothing at all. That’s exactly what the consultation is for — we’ll talk through equipment selection with you, from choosing your first pistol to sorting out a rifle setup, so you can make informed decisions instead of guessing.

Rifle students: This is also where instructor approval to bypass Rifle Zeroing Fundamentals happens. Experienced rifle shooters can discuss waiving the class directly with an instructor at the consultation. For students entering Carbine, we’ll map out the paired pistol phases so you can plan your training path from day one.

Choose a time and take the first step toward confident, capable armed self-defense.
