We appreciate the chance to share a bit of our story with y’all!

2020 and the aftermath changed life for so many people. For us (Brian & Gigi Simmons), it launched us in a new direction professionally, with a geographic move we certainly hadn’t anticipated. It launched us on a journey of growth and development for our businesses (Urban Defense Academy – armed self defense firearms training, and Shin Gan Dojo – traditional Japanese martial arts) as well as our personal life. 5 years later, as hard as it has been at times, we wouldn’t change it. Texas is our home today and we are grateful to be part of a wonderful community here.

With a background in corporate HR and over 15 years of firearms experience, Gigi cultivates a professional, ego-free environment focused on empowerment and fortitude. An annual Range Safety Officer for the Texas 3-Gun Championship and a veteran martial arts instructor, she provides the operational excellence and technical guidance to help every student Be Ready.
