Ninpo Taijutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art as well as a practical self defense martial art. We teach a cohesive curriculum in the adults martial arts class that includes punching, kicking and blocking attacks. You will learn how to roll and fall. These skills will enable you to recover from throws and take-downs. You will learn to set up and execute throws and take-downs. Gain skill to retain your own balance (or center) while taking the attackers balance. You will also learn chokes, joint locks, and pressure points.
At Urban Defense Academy you will learn a traditional Japanese martial art. However, the skills you will learn apply to real world self defense. The traditional Japanese ryu ha (school or teachings) were originally developed and used on the battlefields of ancient Japan. We preserve the tradition, etiquette and principles of this art, while ensuring understanding of how this defensive art can be applied today.



Aspects that this martial arts class for adults includes:
Daken Tai Jutsu: The art of punching and kicking. Said to be one of the original types of Karate, Daken Tai Jutsu is used complementary to Jujutsu in order to set up throws and takedowns.
Taihenjutsu: The art of saving oneself from falls, trips or throws by rolling and break falling. Perhaps the most important of the various arts encompassed by Ninpo, Taihenjutsu incorporates advanced ground fighting techniques.
Jujutsu: The art of taking the opponent’s center. Jujutsu focuses on joint locks, throws, takedowns, chokes and strikes.
Koppo Jutsu: The art of destruction to the skeletal structure. This ancient art was used to disarm the armored Samurai by smashing through weak points of the armor.
Kosshi Jutsu: The art of applying pressure points. Pressure point strikes applied between the openings of the Samurai armor helped to set up the attacker for a finishing blow.
